Smederevo is the home of the former and future Olympic and European champions (in boxing, boating…). Smederevo is the city of winners! A great number of Smederevo's sport clubs are taking a part in the highest ranks of competitions and with unlimited support of their devoted fans, they are scoring great results. During July 2009 The City of Smederevo was one of the Host cities of the Universiade Belgrade 2009. The Stadium of FC Smederevo and Smederevo Sports Hall were hosts to a great number of sportsmen from all over the world. Smederevo has a rich tradition in water and basic sports.
Smederevo Sports Hall is situated in the center of town. Sports Hall has a capacity of 3500 spectators expandable to 1,000 seats. Workspace handball court may extend into an installation stalls on both sides. Smederevo Sports Hall has all the options for the organization of sports with a ball (football, basketball, handball, volleyball ...). Also, the plan is to use the Sports Hall for organizing tennis matches. In the basement halls are built smaller bowling alley, from 4 to 6 lanes, as well as space for a shot. Within the Sports Hall there is a salt room "So relax vita" studio to improve the physical condition and mood.
Swimming pool is located in close proximity to the Smederevo Sports Hall. Pool complex consists of an Olympic swimming pool whose dimensions are 22m x 50m, and two smaller, customized youngest and non-swimmers. Matches can be seen from the stands 7,000 spectators. Olympic pool meets all FIDA standards and is equipped with technology that meets the stringent requirements of international swimming events.
Swimming pool is open to the public during summer months while City Sports Hall is open all year round.
