To reach Smederevo from Belgrade there are at least a dozen or so buses a day (every 30 minutes) from the Lasta bus station. Some of these go via the motorway and are a little more expensive, although not necessarily quicker. Most take the more scenic route via Grocka, along a high ridge above the River Danube. The return ticket is around 700din. The bus station in Smederevo is close to the Fortress, as is the railway station, although there are no trains to Belgrade, just services to Pozarevac and Lapovo on the Belgrade – Nis line. There is also a frequent bus service to Vrsac, via the towns of Kovin and Bela Crkva north of the Danube.
